After a wild friday in Melbourne I went on my daily walk to find more found objects that will nourish my practice for a few weeks to come This were found on Port Phillip bay between Albert Park and Middle Park The collected are forming a rather large collection that is if the ebb and flow continue at this rhythm I may be able to construct my own Tower of Babel I am also getting exited as my show Found & Forgotten is opening June 5 2012 at First Site Gallery

Yesterday These were found They were part of the building blocks that I have been collecting for the last year to create this piece I wonder what responses will it bring These fragments of objects are just stacked to allow several manipulations until perfection is scored Well...or close to! I am enjoying reading Louise Bourgeois interviews and how, like me She also talks about emotions in her work and about her continual struggle to show emotions though materials It is quite amazing that we try to do this through a material that has nothing to do with what we are trying to say How does 'interpretation' such an intangible facts comes through plastic, wood or stone? How can one interpret such an emotion like for example 'Rejection' Yet I can read your lips: Impossible and I would have to agree with you... however this is my research and my journey So wish me luck in reaching some day that particular goal

The Found Forgotten on the Discarded

This is my current project working with representation of the found trash washed on our beaches. I enjoy the intimacy of the objects, their physicality and particularly the first impression given on their discovery. I cherish the primacy of the application of the paint unctuosity, every time I sketch the found on re-purpose brown paper bag. There is a non-preciousness in my process that allows freedom on my part and to others viewers, that engages with my philosophy regarding the unnoticed imperfectness. The Wabi-Sabi in the found has a lot more to say then the perfect noticed. There is a deep appreciation in the everyday rhythm of my practice, in seeking and showing the found.
